Overview
GB/T 2903-2015 specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking and packaging of copper / copper-nickel (constantan) thermocouple wire, the material used to build type T thermocouples.
Key Points
Scope. Manufacture and calibration of type T wire, and industrial or precision thermocouples assembled from it.
Grades. The standard grades the wire by measuring range and tolerance; tighter tolerance classes are used for precision work.
Technical requirements. Thermal EMF must fall within the tolerance given in the reference tables, with requirements on homogeneity, surface finish and the standard diameter series.
Summary
Type T wire is the usual choice for low-temperature and moist atmospheres, and is stable where type K would suffer from oxidation.
