Process Characteristics
In photovoltaic and semiconductor manufacturing, ingot furnaces, crystal pullers and diffusion furnaces run continuously above 1300 °C. Temperature sensors must therefore combine high-temperature capability, thermal-shock resistance and measurement accuracy.
Common Challenges
- Furnace temperature stays above 1300 °C for long periods; long-term stability is essential.
- Ingot casting and crystal growth involve steep gradients, demanding accurate and fast response.
- Large numbers of insulating supports and spacers are required, with strict demands on temperature resistance and cleanliness.
- Production is continuous, so sensors must resist thermal shock and premature failure.
