Thermowell (Thermal Well)
Overview
The thermowell is used together with two-section thermocouples (RTDs) and bimetallic thermometers to protect them during normal operation, and can also be used in high-pressure, high-flow-velocity service. All products are designed in accordance with IEC international standards; blind-hole machining withstands high pressure, and they are manufactured and installed together with the equipment. Different pressure ratings meet different requirements.

Operating Principle
○Nominal pressure
Generally refers to the static external pressure that the protection tube can withstand at room temperature without rupture. The permissible working pressure depends not only on the protection tube material, diameter and wall thickness, but also on its structure, installation method, immersion depth and the flow velocity and type of the measured medium.
○ Hydrostatic test
When pressure resistance and leak testing of the protection tube are required, the tube shall be tested. The test pressure is 1.5 times the nominal pressure of the protection tube.
○ X-ray flaw detection test
When inspection of wall thickness, eccentricity and other items is required, the inspection shall be carried out as specified by the user.
